About Teresina:

Hello. I have been a tutor since high school (over 10 years, over 14 if you include high school) and have tutored in fine art, algebra, (including pre-algebra, algebra 1 & 2), geometry, and have also helped students with upcoming tests such as the SAT and ACT. I am currently tutoring a student in the following courses: Criminal Forensics, psychology, physical science and research methods. I am proficient grammatically and am able to help with the writing of papers, essays in all subjects, as well as research papers and labs. I am on my way to getting my Bachelor's Degree in Astrophysics, so I am also able to tutor in courses such as physics, and calculus. My minor is Anthropological Linguistics, so I am very adept at language structure, and have a high proficiency in the English language. I have taken 6 years of German and 1 year of Latin. I have tutored students who did not speak English, and if it is a mathematical based course, I am willing to do so again. If ESL is requested, I only ask that the student have a very basic understanding of the English language. I understand a bit of Spanish and can communicate in German so ESL in either language would not be a problem at all. I also have a translator available for Spanish students, if needed.

I believe that the greatest problem students face today is the approach teachers take towards teaching various subjects. I prefer to show the student various ways to understand a given concept. This way they can look at the problem from a new direction. I strive to not only help a student with their current courses and upcoming tests, I also focus on the student's retention of the material.
